Last week was the most fun Ive had sharing something over social media. If you didn’t see it, I posted this video sharing the news about our baby!
I didn’t write a September update because I couldn’t think of anything significant enough to share when I was keeping such a big secret. We honestly didn’t do much. Caleb is over halfway done with his training at work and we’ve gotten into a much better routine. Also the cottage is ALMOST done! We had to start outsourcing the work so I cant say we’ve done it all ourselves anymore, but we are so excited with how its turning out. We’ll be able to move in in just a few weeks.
We took some time at the very beginning of September to take family pictures:
We found out I was pregnant in August. I was kind of too scared to get excited. The last time I had a positive pregnancy test there was no heartbeat at our first ultrasound. I think we were both really hesitant to get excited because of the fear of what happened last time.
My prayer and meditation throughout the last few months has been, “Do not fear, for I am with you” (Isa 41:10). When I start to get scared or feel anxious I say it to myself both as a statement and a prayer. I don’t know why God lets those things happen or why families struggle with infertility. I do know that He changed my heart and healed areas of my sinful heart that needed to be set straight before a baby could join our family.
My doctor has been amazing and got me in for an ultrasound as soon as possible. We got to see the baby’s heartbeat right at 6 weeks and we told our parents right after. I got to hear the heartbeat at 8 weeks and see the baby move around at 12 weeks. It was just jumpin’ around in there. So much fun.
Im choosing to do flatlay photos because I feel like a chubby donut right now…;)
My sweet friend Shealin Duncan made the custom print in this photo. She used her mad watercolor skills and it turned out PERFECT. I can’t wait to put it in the nursery 🙂
